Your Points Promise: How it works, what you need, and how to claim it

If you’ve paid for Loqbox membership for 12 months and haven’t seen your credit score grow by 25 points or more, you might be eligible for a £25 payment through the Points Promise.

What is the Points Promise?

If you’ve been using Loqbox for a year, putting your money and trust into it, and your credit score hasn’t increased by at least 25 points, that can feel frustrating.

If your credit score doesn’t increase by at least 25 points in 12 months, and you meet the eligibility criteria, we’ll give you £25. 

If you continue your membership in the future and meet all the eligibility criteria again, we promise your score will increase by at least 1 point over the next 12-month period. If it doesn’t, we’ll pay you £25.

Are you eligible?

To be eligible for the Points Promise, you’ll need to meet all of the following conditions:

  • ✅ You’ve paid the membership fee for 52 consecutive weeks (without cancelling or downgrading early)
  • ✅ You’ve activated and used Grow or Save for 12 months
  • ✅ You’ve made all payments on time for all your accounts on your credit file throughout your 12-month membership
  • ✅ You can give us evidence of your credit score when you began membership, and what it is 52 weeks after joining Loqbox

How to claim your Points Promise payment

If you’ve reached the 12-month mark and your score didn’t increase by 25 points, chat to our member support team, and they’ll guide you through the process.

What happens after you claim?

We’ll give you £25.

If we notice something’s not right after you claim, we’ll let you know why the claim can’t go ahead. Either way, you’ll get a clear answer and a real person to talk to if needed.

Why hasn’t my credit history improved?

Building credit takes time. Sometimes, even when you’ve done everything right, your credit history doesn’t rise as expected. What's going on?:

  • It’s hard to know for certain. Credit scores are calculated using many data points, and not all of them are visible to you, or to us
  • Some credit factors are out of your control. While Loqbox helps with payment history and credit utilisation through Grow, other influences (like your credit age, account types, or external borrowing activity) also play a role
  • It might be time to review your credit report. If you’re surprised by your result, take a look at your credit report for anything unusual or incorrect. There may be a reporting delay or an error that’s holding you back

FAQs

Can I claim if I cancelled before 12 months?

Unfortunately not. You can claim if you’ve paid the membership fee for 52 consecutive weeks.

What if my score increased by 24 points?

You're eligible. The Points Promise applies when your score increases by less than 25 points. So if your score went up by 24 points or fewer, and you meet the other eligibility criteria, you should be able to claim your £25 payment.

How will I receive the £25 payment?

If your claim is approved, we’ll give you £25 using the payment method stored in your account. 

How do I know what my credit score was when I started?

If you’re not sure what your score was 12 months ago, Credit Reference Agencies include credit score history in your credit report

Check your credit score dashboard or emails from your credit score provider; they usually store historical records.

What if I used a different debit card partway through?

If you changed your debit card and your membership wasn’t interrupted, and you made 52 weekly membership payments, you’re still eligible.

But if you missed payments and only updated your card later, that could affect your eligibility for the Points Promise.
