Understand your Grow account

Grow is a credit account we set up for you when you sign up for Loqbox membership.

When you sign up, the line of credit is set at £250. If you downgrade, it changes to £50. It’s a line of credit you can only spend with Loqbox.

Grow helps build your credit history by reporting your repayments to Experian, Equifax and TransUnion, the UK’s Credit Reference Agencies (CRAs).

It acts like a low-use credit line that shows lenders you can manage credit responsibly.

Your Loqbox charges (like your weekly membership fee, or monthly Bolt-ons) are added to your Grow account.

At the end of each month, you settle the balance using your repayment method.

This setup helps you show:

  • A positive repayment history

  • Responsible credit use (by using only a small amount of your available credit)

When are Grow repayments taken, and what happens if they’re missed?

Your Grow can be managed from your account when you log in.

When and how repayments are taken

Repayments happen automatically. Once you’ve given us the correct card details, you don’t need to do anything:

  • Repayments are charged weekly to your Grow account

  • We then take a single monthly repayment from your debit card to clear your Grow balance

What happens if a repayment fails

If a repayment fails:

  • We’ll let you know the repayment has failed using the email address you gave us when you signed up.

  • We’ll retry the repayment a few times

  • If you have Save, we might use your Save balance to cover the repayment

  • If your balance remains unpaid, we will have to report it as missed to the CRAs

❗ A missed Grow repayment can harm your credit score. To stay on track, please keep your repayment details up to date and make sure you’ve got enough funds in your account when your repayment is due.

How to make a manual payment

If you’ve missed a repayment because your card details are out of date, you can update your payment details

We’ll try to take the repayment again automatically.

To change your repayment card in your account, follow these steps:

  • Go to ‘Account’

  • Select ‘Payment method’ and ‘edit’

  • You can manually update your card information if it’s out of date

Keep Grow, just scale it back

  • Scroll through your activated features and see what’s being paid for using Grow

Closing credit accounts can sometimes affect your credit history.

FAQs

Why am I still being charged after closing Grow?

You can close your Grow account but still be a Loqbox member.

Membership is £2.99 per week, and will be billed to your debit card if you close Grow.

You may have other Loqbox features active, like Save. These will continue unless you cancel them too.

Can I withdraw money from Grow?

No. It’s a line of credit you can only spend with Loqbox.

Can I reopen Grow later?

Yes, you can restart using Grow whenever you’re ready.

Why did my score drop after closing Grow?

Closing credit accounts can affect your credit history. But it's often temporary, and depends on your wider credit profile.

Why is Grow listed as a credit card on my credit file?

Some CRAs categorise credit accounts as revolving credit, similar to credit cards. That’s normal and nothing to worry about.

What if I suspect fraud or unauthorised activity?
